💦New Water Heater Retention program

  • The main purpose of using this program is to increase the customer retention percentage by installing a hybrid WH before installing the solar system.
  • We have installed over 100 hybrid WH and retained 100% of the customers, with no cancellations of the solar system once the hybrid WH is installed.
  • For a "basic" installation, it is understood that an old WH is replaced by a new one in the same area. This installation includes materials and labor, with no exceptions regarding location changes.
  • The installation can take 3 to 4 hours to complete and includes a 12-month service warranty from Equity Solar and a 10-year equipment warranty from the manufacturer (Rheem).
  • A consultant who does not comply with all these steps will be responsible for the costs involved in the technical visit, including hours of work, administrative expenses, and gasoline costs, for a total of $175.00.
  • In the event that the customer cancels the solar project, Equity Solar will send an invoice to the customer for the WH payment, and the seller or dealer will be responsible for following up to obtain payment from the customer. If the customer does not pay within 30 days, Equity Solar will deduct 50% of the WH cost from the dealer.

💦Steps to schedule a Water Heater Installation:

  1. The customer must sign an addendum for the WH installation stating that if they decide to cancel the solar system, they will be responsible for paying the hybrid WH in full immediately.
  1. All sales processes must be completed: contract signing with the financial institution and Equity Solar, 100% completed financing, online verification, photo of the current water heater, and submitted project.
  1. Roofs must have been changed from 2015 onwards or properties built from 2015 onwards. If the roof budget/proposal is included and signed in the financing, the WH installation can be scheduled. (Check with the county property appraiser to confirm the last time a permit was obtained to change the roof).
  1. The customer must have the current tank WH in the garage to schedule the installation.
    1. If it is not in the garage, please do not schedule the installation until confirmation of operations is obtained.
    2. Photos of the WH must be sent with notes on its location, in addition to completing the site inspection for the solar installation to determine if it is possible to install the hybrid water heater in that area.
    3. Once approval is obtained, the appointment can be scheduled with the customer through the provided link.
  1. We do not install or replace gas or tankless WH. Please do not sell or install in these cases.
  1. If a customer schedules for 8 AM, for example, the installer may arrive within a 4-hour window, for example, 8 AM to 12 PM.
  1. This program has a distance radius of 100 miles from Equity Solar's main office in Saint Cloud, FL. If it exceeds 100 miles, it must be scheduled directly by Equity Solar's customer.

💦Water Heater Installation Process:

  1. The scheduling process for the WH installation depends on whether it is part of a customer retention strategy or not.
  1. This service will not be available in the South Florida area further than Port Saint Lucie.
  1. The old WH is replaced by a new one on the same property where the first one is located.  Service includes materials and labor.
  1. When WH can not be installed or the customer wants to do it on their own, we will send a $500 USD check.

The Sales Representative should inquire about the clients existing WH. If the client has a tankless WH, our installation is not feasible, due to the insufficient space available for the installation of our type of WH. In such cases, the WH should not be included in the proposal.
  • WH as a customer retention strategy:
    • The sales representative must ensure that the customer signs the "Hybrid Water Heater Addendum" document.
    • The WH must be installed after the Site Survey is approved. The Project Coordinator (PC) notifies the Customer Service team to schedule the WH installation.
    • The customer can expect the (WH) installation to take place within a maximum of 3 days after the CS Team receive notification of Site Survey approval —this also depends on the customer's available scheduling time.
  • WH regular installation:
    • The customer's installation expectation for the WH is a maximum of 3 weeks from the system installation.
    • The PC informs Customer Service that the installation is completed. CS must coordinate the WH installation with the customer.
